Dear Sarina,
In my last newsletter, I announced the exciting news about Apple TV, Jane Fonda, and me. I hope you got a chance to watch it because it really does put everything into perspective.
Jane Fonda's workout videos had a huge imapct on so many women and their communities. People’s lives were changing for the better, and friendships were being formed. She soon became a beloved household name and symbol of empowerment.
I remember channeling her infectious energy when I came out with my first workout video. I wanted to create that same feeling of community among those who came together to try my unique style of fitness. When my first workout was launched, I knew I was onto something when so many people had similar reactions:
”I love your workout video. I have lost weight, thank you. Your workout videos saved my marriage. I love Masala Bhangra. Thank you for introducing us to your culture. When is your next one coming out?"
Now 22 years later, to see my journey laid out in this mini-documentary style really brings things full-circle for me. The woman that inspired me is now reading my story for the whole world to see. What’s even better is that my mom, my sister, and a few of my students got to join in the filming as well. They have watched me grow Masala Bhangra from the ground up and have literally been with me every step of the way.
We shot for two full days. As expected, some of the scenes were cut, but you can see a few BTS here. Also, h ere is a snippet from the show.
My mission and hope is that I will continue to inspire you — as Jane did me — to live your best life and improve the world around you.
Yours truly,
Sarina Jain
